Savory Skillet Carrots: A Simple Side Dish

Savory skillet carrots cooked with butter, onion, and garlic until tender inside and lightly caramelized on the outside.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Whole Carrots Peeled
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • ½ Medium Yellow Onion chopped
  • 2-3 Garlic Cloves Minced
  • ½ cup Water
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Fresh Parsley optional, for serving

Equipment

  • 1 Skillet with tight-fitting lid

Method
 

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
  2. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute.
  4. Add carrots, season with salt and pepper, and pour in water.
  5. Cover with a tight-fitting lid and cook for about 15 minutes, until carrots are tender.
  6. Remove lid and cook uncovered until lightly browned to your liking.
  7. Remove from heat and top with parsley if desired.
